About ECAC-SIDA
|
||
Join ECAC-SIDAIf you are employed in the athletic communications/sports information office at a school that maintains membership in the Eastern College Athletic Conference, you and your fellow staffers may be automatically granted membership in ECAC-SIDA (Check with the administration at your institution to see if your school paid ECAC-SIDA dues when billed for membership by the ECAC). ECAC-SIDA membership is not limited to schools within the ECAC. If your school is not affiliated with the ECAC, or you work for an institution outside the ECAC region, you are invited to join forces with your fellow athletic communications professionals via membership in ECAC-SIDA. An annual membership costs $50 for active members and $10 for students. Click here (PDF file) to print a membership application. Please contact ECAC-SIDA treasurer Roger Crosley if you have any questions. Roger Crosley, ECAC-SIDA Treasurer |
There are countless benefits to being a member of ECAC-SIDA,
both professionally and personally. In addition to having the
opportunity to revisit personal relationships and share athletic
communication ideas with your fellow public relations professionals
at our organization's annual workshop, there are other benefits
available throughout the academic year.
All members receive the ECAC-SIDA newsletter three times during
the year, distributed via e-mail as a pdf file, as well as the
ECAC-SIDA Hometown Handbook. The Hometown Handbook is an
outstanding publication that includes up-to-date listings for all
newspapers (listed alphabetically and by county) in the Eastern
College Athletic Conference's 13-state membership region.
The newly improved ECAC-SIDA web site (ECAC-SIDA.org) is your online link to
the organization. The site includes, but is not limited to,
nomination forms for the organization's awards program, the latest
information on the upcoming workshop, a brief history of the
organization, an onl;ine version of the Hometown Handbook coming
soon, and archived newsletters in a pdf format.
Perhaps the most important part of ECAC-SIDA's web presence is the
online Jobs Center, which allows members a forum to post job
openings free of charge while also providing a fresh listing of
available job opportunities for students, interns and others as
they pursue the next step in their professional careers.
For more than 55 years, the members of ECAC-SIDA have been
instrumental in shaping the course of collegiate athletic
communications efforts on the local, regional and national
levels.
Please join us as we continue to forge new ground in an
ever-changing profession.
